A cluttered space can contribute to feelings of stress and anxiety. The act of simplifying our surroundings allows for a clearer mindset and a greater sense of control over one’s environment. Happier home, happier mind.
Without visual distractions, we can focus more efficiently on our tasks and goals. Plus, it contributes to less housework and cleaning, which increases our time and energy.
Removing excess items to create a serene atmosphere through a clutter-free space is essential for a better night’s sleep and overall health and wellbeing.
Begin with a small area or a specific category, such as clothing, housewares, kitchen essentials, bedding & linens, and clothing items, to make the process more manageable. Don’t forget to donate them to your local Donor Welcome Centre to clear space in your home and help those in need, sustainably. Declutter seasonally to keep on top of your home.
Declutter first, organize second. Invest in storage solutions that suit your needs to ensure items are easily accessible and remain tidy – your local Thrift Store is filled with them! Keep your surfaces clutter free as everything should have a home within your home.
Keep items that hold sentimental value and bring joy, while letting go of items that no longer bring you joy as they may bring joy to someone else. Rule of thumb: If you haven’t used it in 1 year, part with it.
Share your thrifted finds from our stores on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok with the hashtag #IFoundThis to be entered in a monthly draw to win $25 towards your next thrift haul.
