Thrifty Gifty: Kitchenware Bouquet DIY

There are only a few weeks until Santa arrives! Which means there’s definitely still time to craft custom presents for family and friends. A fun gift is a collection of thrifted finds for your favourite cook. You can find vintage serving pieces, baking items or mixing spoons. Mix and match utensils into the perfect package with a potholder and oven mitt to wrap it all up. The best part? This gift is completely thrifted!

Thrifty Supplies:

  • cooking utensils
  • oven mitt
  • potholder
  • scrap ribbon

< STEP 1: Thrift your set

Drop by your local Salvation Army Thrift Store and look for an oven mitt. I found this matching pair – an oven mitt and potholder.

STEP 2: Gather your bouquet >

Collect your thrifted cooking utensils. You’ll want 5-8 items depending on their size as these will fit inside the oven mitt. Then wash all your thrifted finds.

< STEP 3: Wrap in ribbon

Once your items are dry, you’re ready to “wrap” them. I used the potholder to wrap the utensils. Then a piece of scrap ribbon to hold them in place.

STEP 4: Finishing touches >

Now insert the potholder into the opening of the oven mitt. Next use ribbon to tie around the oven mitt and add your gift tag. Ta-da! Your thrifty gifty is ready to be gifted.
