As you may or may not know, I’m a huge fan of all things boho. I just love how effortless and free it makes me feel when I put on that beautiful long maxi dress or a flowy kimono. I always find that boho style can be so flattering when you cater it to your own personal style so here are some tips for dressing up like a boho babe (or boy) for summer!
1.Bright colours and prints
This is my number one staple as I find that bright colours and prints just draw so much attention. My personal favourites are gingham, paisley, floral, vertical stripes, and damask. And my favourite colours are orange, blush pink, wine red, and blue. For more of a boho look I highly recommend getting into vintage looking prints and colours as it makes a huge difference!
2.Wide brim hat
Hats are a bonus because it shades your face from the sun while still looking very chic. There are so many different types of hats but I recommend a wool or straw hat. Straw hats are definitely much lighter and breathable, but for a southwestern twist try a wool hat!
3.Off the shoulder
One of the most flattering types of tops that anyone can easily pull off is off the shoulder tops! Try different variations such as crop tops, long sleeves, or off the shoulder dresses. It’s such a great way to highlight the collarbone and shoulder!
Denim is always on my clothing rack for every season mainly because it’s so easy to style and it’s such a basic wardrobe staple for everyone! My personal favourite for this summer is ripped denim high waist shorts as it adds such a classic edge to your look. Fun tip: If you don’t have any distressed denim shorts, try DIY it and use a razor and sand paper to distress that baby!
So find what works for you and what you like to add to your own personal wardrobe this summer. But I also challenge you to experiment with your look for a day, try something new and get out of your comfort zone. You never know what you may end up falling in love with!
