Spring has sprung and it’s usually that time when people do their spring cleaning and purging. Maybe you’re purging items, decluttering your spaces or just craving a bit more organization. If it’s organization you’re looking for - have I got the list for you!
Here are 5 ways you can use secondhand finds to help you organize your place.
Depending on the style, candleholders can be a great addition to your bedroom for displaying jewelry. If the candleholders have a flat top you can place rings or pendants on them.
I bought these metal candleholders from my local Salvation Army Thrift Store. I gave them a shabby chic finish and use them in my bedroom to help feature my jewelry.
I even used these martini glasses to organize my earrings and pendants - earrings hung from the rim, pendants were placed inside.
Bowls are a great option for organization. I have a couple of big bowls by my front door for glasses, gloves and hats. Small bowls for jewelry, keys, etc. Funky bowls can make organizing your things look good.
3. Boxes / carts
Every so often you can score a wooden cart secondhand. They are awesome for storing papers, books or knick knacks. You can set them up in your closet or hang them on your wall. They’re pretty trendy these days so if you see one at your local Salvation Army Thrift Store I would snap it up fast.
You can always find a basket big or small at your local Salvation Army Thrift Store. I’ve picked up big ones for dirty laundry or to store purses or scarves in them. Small ones are ideal for keys, receipts or office supplies.
5. Storage tins
Take those old tins and use them to hide your mess. I love the vintage tins for coffee, tea and sugar. Use them in your office for pens, receipts or letters. Or maybe in your bathroom for your toiletries.
Why not plan to try one of the above as part of #EarthLovesThrift to help get your space organized. Or maybe even all 5! Be sure to share your tips and tricks for using secondhand treasures to organize your place.
