With summer just around the corner it’s time to start prepping for spending more time outdoors. And what better to do on a sunny weekend afternoon than get your family and friends out for a picnic.
Here are 5 secondhand treasures that are perfect for your picnic-ing needs.
1. A basket
You can always source a wicker basket at your local Salvation Army Thrift Store. You can choose from various sizes, shapes and colours. Sometimes you can even score a picnic basket with everything inside of it - cups, utensils, plates and napkins!
2. Reusable cups, plates & cutlery
Be on the hunt for tubberware containers, reusable cups and plates then cutlery to pack in your picnic basket. Don’t get too fussed about everything matching. You could always buy items of the same colour or mix and match them.
3. Blankets & linens
Hit up the linen area of your local Salvation Army Thrift Store for a blanket for your family to gather on. You can also find reusable napkins.
You can find hula hoops, frisbees, badminton sets and other outdoor games easily.
5. That super fun outfit
Last but not least is the picnic outfit. Score a summer dress, a colourful scarf, some cut off jeans - whatever your style you’ll find a fun outfit for your family affair.
Keep your eye out for collapsible chairs. Not everyone wants to sit on the ground.
Hope you get out with your family and plan the epic picnic affair. Keep it on budget and sustainable easily by visiting your local Salvation Army Thrift Store.
