Our mandate is to develop, manage and improve systems to recover used packaging and end-of-life products from consumers and ensure that they are properly recycled and not land-filled or incinerated". British Columbia Thrift Store Recycling Centres and Encorp:
Since 2005 The Salvation Army Thrift Stores of British Columbia have been partnered with ENCORP programs, first with the 'Bottle Return-It' program, and in 2007 with the 'Electronics Return-It' program.
In 2010, the Vancouver Recycling Centre recycled approximately 3.3 million lbs for the Electronics Return-It program, and 300,000 containers for the Bottle Return-It program.
Victoria, partnered solely with the Electronics Return-It program recycled approximately 1.3 million lbs for the Electronics Return-It program.
