Meet Our Volunteers
Gerald Hayward
I was born at the Salvation Army Hospital in St John’s,
New Brunswick, so that’s why I wanted to give back
to them—one good deed deserves another. I started
while off work for 6 months
on medical leave. I asked my
doctor if there was something I could do, so I decided to
volunteer at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. The Moncton
City Hospital called me twice to volunteer there, but I liked
it at the Salvation Army so I stayed. I enjoy doing
what I’m doing now. I hope my health doesn’t
give out so I can stay. I find all the staff so veryl
nice.
Gerald Hayward has been volunteering
with the Salvation Army for approximately ten years. Gerald is very
loyal at the Mountain Road store. He does our huge ragout
during the day and scans our tags from the clothing at
night. Gerald is always up for
a new challenge and eager to do different things. We really appreciate Gerald and without him ragout would
be a real challenge. Gerald brightens up everyone with
his smile. Thank you for all your hard work.
